Happy Halloween! My Witch Photoshoot

At the weekend I did a fun new halloween themed photoshoot with Ryan Hewett Photography, a local Southampton wedding photographer. We decided to meet and get some spooky halloween photos together for a bit of fun! The photos are so spooky and amazing! I had to share them all!

My amazing, spooky witch makeup was done by Alisha May Makeup - she did this amazing red, smoky eye look, made me look really pale with ashy cheekbones and brown lips

I teamed it with a dark grey K'ryssma wig which was around £15 from Amazon

We walked out to Manor Farm Country Park in Southampton, near Hedge End to find this little copse and take the photos (apologies to all the dog walkers I scared that day)

I wore a full length white tulle skirt from Reathua on Etsy. I put it with a Boohoo Holly sheer top and an ASOS bustier corset top

The floating photos were so fun, and really clever! In the black dress photo I wore the Boohoo Fliss off the shoulder fishtail dress

After the floating photos, we had a play with smoke bombs!

Turns out smoke bombs get really hot, and if you use colourful ones they stain your hands and clothes! I've washed my white outfit since and it's now a very pale pink!

Ryan, a pro prop maker also made a swing! He got his lovely wife to do a run around with a white smoke bomb to make this eerie atmosphere.

The photos are amazing! They look so atmospheric and spooky, and definitely sum up his idea of "classy, not cheesy witch".

LOTD Outfit post - PVC skirts for the daytime

I was contacted by a company called LOTD, who I hadn't heard of before. I peeked at their website and was there for hours! They have a huge range of clothes and they are really cheap. The company offered me an outfit to try out so I picked this!

First impressions were the packaging was good, it all came nicely packed up and easy to return if I wanted to. Also the quality of the clothes was really good. No itchy bits, bad stitching or thin fabrics. I also got a top and another pair of shoes, and they are all really good quality.

My eyes were immediately drawn to this blush pink vinyl skirt (£12). I loved how shiny it was and I wanted the opportunity to have a PVC skirt! I feel the blush pink makes it more wearable and thought I'd take on the challenge of wearing it in the daytime.

I took inspiration from their model on the website, who was wearing it as a daytime look. I also chose to pair the skirt with some chunky knitwear to get a variation in texture. This cream funnel neck cable jumper (£12) has a lovely boxy, cropped shape. It's also really warm. I'm sometimes funny about high necks because they can be a bit claustrophobic, but this one is loose enough to be ok.

I put the look together with some grey Western ankle boots (£18). The boots were so comfortable! I wore them around the shops this afternoon and that's always a brave move when you have new shoes.

So the whole look may have been a little too much for running errands and going shopping, but I felt chic sipping my caramel latte! The skirt was so comfortable, stretchy enough but also firm enough to suck in the wobbly bits! It's definitely a fantastic day-to-night look, and would have worked really well last weekend when a daytime pub lunch turned into an evening stay at the pub.

I'm definitely adding LOTD to the list of regular sites to visit, among ASOS, Boohoo and Missguided. The price is definitely in the bargain end, but the quality of the clothes has been great. I'm really pleased!

4 Pinterest Autumn outfits - recreated

Pinterest is amazing. I've been using it more recently (find me at laurenlovesblog), and started creating an Autumn outfit board. I thought I would go through finding things to recreate the outfits I loved the most.

How to put it together:

grey jumper by Weekday - £45 from ASOS

dark grey skinny jeans - £22 from Missguided

white trainers - £17.24 on sale at New Look

Ok so the bag was really hard to find. This tweedy one is cute from BirdsAreCurious on Etsy for £19.31

How to recreate it:
You can always trust Zara with gorgeous knitwear. This one is £29.99
If you want something a bit different, look at the amazing sleeves on this Boohoo jumper for £18

for a smaller brim, this black felt floppy hat - £5 at Peacocks
or for a more floppy brimmed hat - £12 from Boohoo

ASOS Raquel ankle boots - £30

This designer inspired bag is £11.99 from eBay

If you go to the website this picture comes from originally, it actually tells you where her outfit comes from, but here's my bargain version

This gorgeous New Look jacket from ASOS - £59.99. It's already in my basket, I'm waiting for Sam to dig out his Unidays log-in because it's 20% at the moment!

My Matalan jeggings (£16) are my favourite ever. I wear them constantly

Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses - £69 from Sunglasses Shop

Ok so the Givency Antigona is hard to copy. But this winged bag is nice and it's from ASOS is £24.99

Her personalised Burberry scarf is gorgeous, but for a similar, cheaper version check out this for £7.99 on eBay

There are lots of lovely cream, cable knit jumpers out at the moment. My favourite is this Superdry Esmay jumper for £59.99

Boohoo suede skirt - £12

The coat she is holding looks a little like this ASOS one - £85

Topshop cross-body bag - £28
