Having a #HomeMovieNight

This weekend, My whole house sat down to a movie night. Sarah and I did face masks, Sam brought mixed us up some G&Ts and we all got cosy in our PJs. Even Teddy the dog got involved!

Our night involved watching The Breakfast Club, with facemasks, popcorn, M&Ms, daiquiri and a scented candle - relaxation bliss! I decided to swap my daiquiri for a yummy gin and tonic with grapefruit!

I got into my comfy jersey PJ jumpsuit from ASOS which I found through Octer

We all joined in with the popcorn!

It was great fun! Normally I might sulk a little at an evening in, I think there must be something better I could be doing! However, I really enjoyed making an event of this, with snacks and great company and gin! I think reframing it in your mind as a relaxing (and cheap) treat makes it an event and just as fun as going out for cocktails or the cinema (plus you know where the food, toilets and tea making facilities are!)

So I wouldn't look like a loaner, Sarah eventually agreed to sit with me while Sam took photos!

I have to be honest - I'm terrible with films! I tend to lose concentration very quickly so I  knit to keep myself still! I didn't really get The Breakfast Club although my boyfriend predicted I wouldn't as it isn't a fast-moving Rom-Com like my usual style. I tend to say "I don't get it" halfway through a film which is about finding meaning, or is slow moving. Or even worse, which drives Sam mad, I think I haven't seen a film and halfway through I go "OH I have seen this!". Annoying! We ended up watching Night at The Museum 3 after The Breakfast Club!

Summer Sandals Picks

Although the weather has been terrible lately, I hold out hope I can wear sandals all the time soon. I've already cracked out my Fitflops for work (they are a spine saviour) and look forward to getting my little toes out all summer long. Here are my picks for ladies sandals across the internet.

First up, I love a delicate sandal and I love gold tones which go with everything. Therefore I love these New Look numbers for £27.99

Along the same lines, I am liking these squishy, comfy looking sandals from Jones which are on offer for £24

I adore a wedge, but am yet to find a comfy pair! These with ankle straps from New Look look perfect for a weekend BBQ and cost £27.99

If you're looking for something strappy and bright for a wedding, these girls are for you! They're mouthwateringly pink and cost £24.99 in the Mango sale

Some may say these are a more classy wedding style, and they're definitely great for grassy venues with their wedge heels. They are on sale for £30 at Jones

If you're looking for a Jelly shoe, these from Boohoo are only £3 and come in pink, black and clear glitter

As I said before, I love my Fitflops and wear them constantly. I've had my spine fused so can get achey sometimes. I've found these keep my posture really good and help me with achey days though. They're £50 from Jones

Finally if you have to wear proper shoes to work (I know that pain on a hot summer day) these leather ballet sandals let a little air flow and won't get smelly with no socks! They're £20 from Boohoo

This post was sponsored by Jones but I have brought you a range of sandals I love

Making shopping easier with Octer #spon

I love internet shopping, I prefer it to regular shopping these days! However I find I usually internet shop with something specific in mind and want to look across all the UK highstreet websites. I was told last week about Octer which helps scour the internet for the perfect item.

It features lots of options along the top which help you narrow down your search. Say I'm looking for a dress for my friend's wedding in October, I can click women, then dresses. It then gives you dress options

So I click on Occasion and get another page of all the selected Occasion dresses

You can also type in specific search terms using the little search button at the top, such as co-ord or "beaded dress". (It's my parent's Pearl wedding anniversary in September, I'd like a pearly dress!)

My only comment is that although it makes finding something easier across the internet, I would have liked more filtering options such a size - there's nothing more disappointing than finding a dress which doesn't come in the right size! However, the team have let me know they're on this and hope to have a range of filters really soon!

If you'd like help searching for one perfect items, or just want some ideas for a big event, check out Octer

This is a sponsored post, but I only post what I believe in!
