Blogger Interview: Little Peaches

9 Apr 2012

I love my interview series, putting bloggers in the spotlight and this blog is the reason I love interviews - you may not have heard of Little Peaches but it's a gorgeous design, interiors and style blog. All gorgeous things wrapped up and I think you'll love her so here's some more information on the girl behind the blog

Hello! Please introduce yourself and your blog
Hello, my name's Abbi, I'm 27, I live in Berkshire with my cheeky miniature Dachshund and moggy cat. Little Peaches is a design, interiors and style blog. I write about everything from my latest DIY projects, personal style, home decor inspiration and baking to how to dye black hair red. Oh, and there are lots of pictures of my four legged babies, too.

When did you start blogging and why?
Little Peaches was born in February 2011. Previously I had been blogging about arty and crafty things at (http://edwinasimone.blogspot.co.uk as part of Edwina.Simone my handmade jewellery and accessory brand, which I have been working on for about 4 years on and off. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to it at the minute, but I am always hoarding and collecting semi precious stones and doodling designs to be cut from silver.

Anyway... Whilst I love making things, I also like to write. I wanted to write about things I would read; beauty products that actually do what they say, opinions, I don't know... gorgeous leopard print shoes! Little Peaches was somewhere fresh, somewhere to share my thoughts, a place for this completely separated from my jewellery work.

What is your favourite feature on your blog/what posts are you most proud of?
My favourite feature has to be DIY Adventures. I moved into an old house 18 months ago, everything was covered in floral wallpaper, the curtains a contrasting print and the carpet a browny swirl. It actually doesn't sound that bad, I do have unusual tastes after all, but this decor was more grannys handbag than granny chic. These posts are the journey through ripping out the kitchen, bathroom and much more; there are some quite amazing transformations even if I do say so myself!

Describe your style
I like things that are a little bit different; I'm quite fickle so my tastes change a lot. I love leopard print, spots and stripes, I will wear them all together some days. Other days I like to be a bit calmer, on those days you will usually find me in something black, I love black. I'm quite a contradiction because whilst I love colour, blacks and greys will always have a special place in my heart!
Whatever I'm wearing will be teamed with chunky jewels and lots of rings and  probably a stack of bangles.

What’s your favourite item of clothing
As I said, my favourites change a lot. I think at the minute it has to be a short leather jacket with fur collar. And my yellow and black Primark leopard print scarf. They're my winning combination at the minute.

What is your favourite highstreet shop and who is your favourite designer
I really like H & M at the minute, they have some really lovely printed, quirky, inexpensive pieces in at the minute. Primark, of course for basics.

I'm not that much into designer clothes, my waistline and tastes change too quickly to invest in any clothes. But for handbags and jewellery it has to be Vivienne Westwood and for handbags it has to be Marc Jacobs.

Apart from blogging, what do you do?
Apart from working on edwina.simone, which has taken a bit of a back seat at the minute, I'm the home writer for Twelve52.  I also have a full time job where I train children and young people with learning or physical disabilities to use public transport.

What is your dream? My dream used to be to own a little shop selling handmade goodies, my own and other creatives. To work for myself and spend every day being creative, so I guess I'm half way there. Whilst I still want that I would like to combine it with my day job and do some kind of art therapy also.

Tell me a secret? When I was at infant school I was jealous that my friend got lots of attention and half a day off school when she got a pea stuck up her nose. I'm not sure if I did it too, but I remember very clearly being jealous! What a weird child!

Haha brilliant! so if you love the sound of her, check out Little Peaches.

  1. They have loads of options, too, not just the cabinets they have in stock at the store. I recommend having a expert measure your kitchen for you, in particular for countertops, mainly because new kitchen countertops won't fit correctly unless you have PERFECTLY straight walls.
