My Dermalogica MicroZone Treatment

Today I had my first ever facial! I went to the lovely k:SPA in Whitely, near Fareham, Hampshire. I won a MicroZone treatment though their Facebook page (if you like them on Facebook, you're in with a chance of winning too!)

Apologies for the rubbish photos, I'm using someone else's camera - who knew I'd become so attached to my camera!

So what is MicroZone?
They’re the 20 minute quick fix that gets you in, gets skin repaired and gets you out the door in less time than it takes for a lunch break.  There’s no need to even change out of your clothes – just get ready for targeted results!

With treatments like flash exfoliation (great before a special occasion) blackhead relief, eye revitalisation (perfect for firming and hydrating) hand repair and Men’s skin fitness to name a few.  They can help to provide solutions whilst guiding you how to maintain results at home.

I had a general facial as I have no real skin concerns (except my horribly dry lips). Becky, my lovely therapist did a quick assessment of my skin and its needs and then delivered a lovely moisturising facial with exfoliation, perfect for my dry winter skin.

Firstly, she removed my makeup and cleansed my face, then had a look at my skin and created a facial map.

The map highlighted that my skin was generally good, but I had a few blackheads on my nose, and evidence of recent breakout activity on my chin (damn those Christmas chocolates!) She then gave me a lovely facial, consisting of exfoliation, a moisturising mask (and scalp massage!) and then a cleanse, eye serum and moisturiser.

After the facial, she discussed my skins needs and said that I should have 4 facials a year as the seasons change, and then prescribed some products which would suit my skin perfectly and gave me loads of helpful advice on looking after my skin, including the recommendation of a lovely Dermalogica Climate Control lip treatment balm for my dry lip woes.

I left feeling fresh and clean with hopes for lovely skin in the future. Becky also gave me some little samplers of the cleanser, daily microfoloant and moisturiser to take home and try out.

The verdict
I don't think I'll ever move away from using Liz Earle products, but a Dermalogica facial once every 3 months will be greatly appreciated! Each treatment is £20 and I think really makes a difference. I've not run straight home to reapply my foundation, but instead I'm feeling fresh, confident and my skin feels comfortable (and not dry like it usually does in winter). Would I go again in Spring? Yes!

What do you think? Have you had a facial before? It was such a treat! Thanks to everyone at k:SPA, especially Becky.

  3. I think I need one of these facial treatments. I was also thinking about microdermabrasion b/c I have scars from past acne.

  5. The micro zone treatment is completely new and innovative one. Can you suggest me how could I go for this treatment? Please reply me as soon as possible. I also became familiar to many dermalogica moisturisers form Purebeauty

  6. Hi, i had this treatment done last Friday and oh my G.. It went soooo wrong:-( it was great straight after the treatment but then in the evening my skin went red and itchy, in the morning i had to come back where i had the treatment done and the lady had tested my skin again and gave me some samples to use. Today i feel the same, very patched red burnt skin, its getting harder where its burnt and i feel absolutely awful. I needa go shopping but its sooo embarrassing as it very red. If i'd known i had a reaction i'd have never ever gone for this treatment.
